Sunflowers and bikes

Here we are... a beautiful Saturday in Berkeley.

We headed up to the hills, wandered Tilden Park, and then stopped by to pick my bike...ok my grandma's very old bike that needed repaired...from Cosmic Cycle- they did a great job.  So I decided to ride it home- and I have to admit that riding a bike on San Pablo is something out of "Frogger vs. Speed Racer".  Well, maybe not but it was less than fun and as stressful as it comes.  Maybe I should stick to the bike paths!  The great thing is that the bike is in good operation status & with the basket on it, I'll be able to use it when I do my shopping and running around...yeah.  Especially since I am selling my cute little red car.

I'm sad to see it go, and its such a great car, but paying $75/month just to park it...and to be realistic my car is parked WAY TOO MUCH just doesn't make sense to spend that kind of money to have it just BE.

But the car will now end up back in Cheney- happy area for it- and Brandi will look just way too cute driving it around.  Perfect car for a college girl.

Anyways, back to the bike.  Well after I played frogger and deposited the bike back into its home, Max showed up with a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers for me.  Now that is a great way to complete a fun filled Saturday afternoon, with flowers.

space?

California..SMALL apartment living...
Lets hit the low points...
  no office/art room space
  no art easel
I don't have my canning pot (or my tongs)...
and I don't have room for them
My sewing machine is so close to my bed, I can hit my head on it if I'm not careful
My cooler is on top of my fridge (of course, all containers for cool storage ARE in same area :))
I can see the toilet from my dining room (aka, office, aka art) chair
Our shower is comfortable for 2 people...
Fresh lemons and tomatoes every day
Secure parking for the little red roadster

and the high points
Cleaning is quick and easy :)
Fresh lemons and mint every day
  nice garden in back area
secure parking and security on building
Bike path only 1 block away
  Fabric store:  3 doors down
Urban Ore (sweet, reused center): 1 block down
Berkeley Bowl (the BEST, fresh produce): 2 blocks away
  IKEA 2 miles away
  Target 2 miles away
  Trader Joes 2 miles away
OK, this makes me look very materialistic!  I guess the fact is, when I have such limited space
and no artistic area, I go out ALOT.

A New Adventure

Gone is the flower and raised beds.  Away with the hot tub room and the man den.  Bye bye to the loads of fruits that grow around the house....Well, OK, they are all still there.  But we are not.  It's time for a new adventure- in small space living - with just over 600 square feet in our new STUDIO apartment, we are in for quite a change in our world!
